Saving Lives Through Blood Donation - Kenya

The Ursuline Sisters in Kenya, through St. Ursula's Dispensary, successfully hosted a Blood Donation Exercise in June aimed at supporting the growing need for safe blood in our healthcare facilities.

We are deeply grateful to all the donors, partners, and well-wishers who responded generously to this noble call. The Ursuline Sisters and staff played an active role in mobilizing and encouraging donors and partners, while some also donated blood themselves as a sign of solidarity and commitment to saving lives.

Blood remains a critical resource in Trans Nzoia County, where it is needed to support patients undergoing surgery, mothers experiencing postpartum hemorrhage (PPH), sickle cell patients, accident victims, and many others. As a malaria-endemic region, the demand for blood is often high, making every donation invaluable.

Your gift of blood is a gift of life. Together, we have made a difference and given hope to patients in need.
Thank you to everyone who participated and supported this exercise. Let us continue to promote a culture of voluntary blood donation and stand together in service of life.
