Insieme 2021
15/12/2021
This year's Foundation Day celebrations on 25th November, and Roman Union Day on 28th November were an opportunity for us in the Generalate to be together - Insieme in great diversity. With the Tertianship group with us, our internationality was experienced even more and was very joyful.
Foundation Day of the Company of St Ursula coincided this year with Thanksgiving Day celebrations in the USA – which was also an opportunity to look with thanksgiving to God, who wanted to choose St Angela and who chose us to be together.
The celebration has always included an international Eucharistic celebration. On the evening of Thursday 25th November we gathered together for recreation - all six communities now present in the Generalate - celebrated together, to rejoice in each other and to share diversity. The time passed very quickly with games, quizzes, singing, and performances prepared by different groups of sisters.
St Angela was surely also with us, encouraging us in a sentence - which we tried to put together in groups from cut-up pieces: “So, persevere faithfully and joyfully in the work you have begun” (Last Legacy: 22).
The anniversary of the foundation of the Roman Union coincided this year with the first Sunday of Advent. We might think that this was a special sign that we are together in diversity awaiting the coming of the Lord in hope and joy.
