The sign of solidarity from Australia
We received from the Australian sisters assurances of being united with us all in prayer for world peace.
Therefore, Mother of God and our mother,
to your Immaculate Heart we solemnly entrust and consecrate ourselves,
the Church and all humanity, especially Russia and Ukraine.
Accept this act that we carry out with confidence and love.
Grant that war may end and peace spread throughout the world.
Because of where Australia is in the world, these words from the Act of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, began the proclamation of dedication, acknowledgement of sorrow and plea for peace that Pope Francis gave for celebration around the world on the Feast of the Annunciation.
In the Cathedral of St Stephen, Brisbane, the faithful gathered to take part in this act where Bishop Ken Howell and Sr Kari Hatherell, osu shared the prayer of Consecration. We are united with all who suffer in this broken world of ours and especially at this time with the people of Ukraine.
