Will Catholic Schools be Catholic in 2030?

Interesting resources for school communities to reflect upon their mission as educators in Catholic Schools.

Will Catholic Schools be Catholic in 2030? was written as a resource for school communities to reflect upon their mission as educators in Catholic Schools. It provides articles written by people with various experience in Catholic education. These are a stimulus to engage staff communities in reflection, conversation, and discernment as they continue to nurture our schools. The Catholic church and the schools’ mission is to participate in the transformation of our world so that the gospel values shape each aspect of our society.  I believe Catholic schools are to nurture ‘prophets of hope’. Young women and men who are educated to understand our present cultural contexts, to be aware of the ways they can question the status quo that does not promote life. And then to imagine ways that a more just society could be shaped so that when they are in positions of responsibility they can ask questions and hopefully initiate change.

The Prayer and Reflection section is to gather communities prayerfully around various themes. As music, art, poetry, story and scripture are the language of the soul, these feature throughout this section. They are on the website in Word documents so that they can be adjusted to the needs of each community. I do hope this resource is helpful.
