Bronze medal of merit for Sister Ksawera - Senegal

On 1 June 2024, the Polish Ambassador to Senegal, Bartłomiej Zdaniuk, presented Sr Ksawera Michalska OSU with a bronze medal of merit awarded to her by the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda.

The Ambassador is a frequent visitor to our facility and sees first-hand the enormous amount of work done by Sr Ksawera and the team she leads for the sick and undernourished.

Also present at the medal ceremony were the Apostolic Nuncio, Archbishop Waldemar Stanislaw Sommertaga, two sisters from the General Council in Rome who were at that time in Senegal, and Ursulines from the communities there.

The Ambassador, in presenting Sr. Ksawera the medal, noted that it was an expression of appreciation and thanks for her service to the dispensaries and at the same time an encouragement to continue serving those in need. In thanking for the award, Sister said that this medal is really due to Jesus, who called her to the Ursuline family and who gives her the strength to give of herself to others.
