Fund-raising workshop

Nine Ursulines of the Roman Union from different countries — Australia (for Cambodia), Indonesia, Kenya, Mexico, Senegal, Slovakia — and from the General Council, along with one of our Brazilian collaborators, attended the workshop 'Grant Writing & Fundraising for Missionary Projects', held from October 7-11, 2024, in Rome. The General Council proposed this workshop, offering it to several Ursuline Provinces and groups.

The workshop was hosted by SOFIA (Salvatorian Office for International Aid) - the international agency for the aid and development work of the Salvatorian Fathers and Brothers in Rome. It has been a forerunner in training Catholic religious members in Project Management for the last fourteen  years.

 

 

There were 50 participants from various congregations who attended the workshop. The course focused on preparation of project applications and reports and finding funding. Workshop presenters were: Brother Allen Sherry fms (an Australian Marist Brother and the former CEO of Australian Marist Solidarity and consultant in international development and funding, Sydney – Australia) and Dr. Arnout Mertens (the International Director for Programmes and Innovation, Jesuit Refugee Service, Rome-Italy).
