St. Ursula's Dispensary in Kenya

We share with you both the triumphs and challenges of the ongoing fight against HIV/AIDS, in Kenya, and highlight the compassionate care provided by St. Ursula's Dispensary. Marking 40 years since the detection of HIV in Kenya is both a moment for solemn reflection and gratitude for the progress made.

At St. Ursula's Dispensary, the success stories we share - of babies born free of HIV and the achievements in viral suppression - are powerful testaments to the effectiveness of comprehensive care and the resilience of individuals and communities. These stories embody hope and affirm the importance of accessible healthcare and sustained support.

At the same time, the challenges we face, particularly around adherence to antiretroviral therapy (ART), shed light on the ongoing work required. More resources are needed to ensure seamless HIV counselling and testing, HIV prevention services, provision of HIV drugs, Tuberculosis care and treatment, Laboratory support among others.

The effort to follow up with patients through phone calls and or home visits demonstrates the dedication of our team and the critical need for continued resources and community support.
