Feast of St Angela and Chinese New Year – celebrated by sisters in Taiwan

On January 27, the Sisters in Taiwan celebrated the feast day of Saint Angela together with the lay group, the “Friends of Angela.”

During the Mass, the Sisters renewed their vows, and the Friends of Angela reaffirmed their commitment to devotion. The Mass was presided over by a Jesuit priest who, in his homily, emphasized the sacrifices and charity inherent in community life. The music for the Mass was performed by two teachers, whose melodious tunes made the liturgy even more moving and heartfelt.

The next day, January 28, was Chinese New Year’s Eve. After evening prayer, we held an ancestral veneration ceremony, a tradition deeply rooted in Chinese culture, to honor our ancestors and deceased loved ones, especially during the New Year. In this ceremony, we particularly remembered the Sisters who had passed away and prayed for blessings in the coming year.

New Year’s Eve is a time for family reunions, and this year, in addition to sharing dinner together and receiving red envelopes from the Provincial, we also enjoyed singing karaoke. We discovered many talented singers during this event.
