Double jubilee at the Generalate

 

On the Sunday of Divine Mercy, April 27, 2025, we celebrated a double jubilee at the Generalate, Rome:

•    Diamond Jubilee: the 60th anniversary of the religious profession of Sr. Maria Letizia Usai from the Italian community.

•    Silver Jubilee: Sr. Maria Małgorzata Woźniakowska from the Polish Province celebrated her 25th anniversary of religious profession.

Our international Ursuline community gathered to thank God for the gift of fidelity of Sr. Maria Letizia and Sr. Maria Małgorzata, and for their gifts that enrich our lives.

Sisters from all the communities in the Generalate participated in the Jubilee. The Generalate Community and the General Council with Sr. Sue Flood, Prioress General. The sisters of the Italian Community alongside Sr. Anna Rosa Porro also joined the event. The International Novitiate and the student sisters participated as well. Missionaries of the Sacred Heart, with their Superior General, Fr. Abzalon Alvarado MSC who presided over the liturgy. And also we were pleased to  have present the Cardinal from Papua New Guinea, John Ribat MSC and Fr. Tadeusz Nowak OMI.

Fr. Abzalon in his homily said: "Today, more than ever, Consecrated Life is called to be a sign of mercy, a witness of hope, a prophecy of possible fraternity. Not through grand speeches, but through the strength of a life quietly given, day by day, like the broken bread we place on this altar."

The celebration was marked by joy and hope, which is the motto of the Holy Year, and by the presence of Our Lady of Good Counsel, who holds a special place in the lives of both Sisters.
