125 Years of the Roman Union of Ursulines – November 28, 2025
18/11/2025
As the Church celebrates its Jubilee Year in 2025, the Ursulines also mark a significant milestone: the 125th anniversary of the founding of the Roman Union.
On November 28, 1900, Pope Leo XIII gave verbal approval for the Roman Union, paving the way for the opening of its first General Chapter. This historic moment united Ursulines across the world in a shared mission while honouring the richness of diverse cultures and traditions.
The feast of November 28, 2025 invites us to reflect on this heritage and rejoice in the unity within diversity that continues to flourish among us. It is also a moment to give thanks for the many ways our Institute has been shaped by the presence of the Generalate House at Via Nomentana 236, and for the countless encounters made possible within its walls.
Together, let us give thanks for 125 years of faith, service, and sisterhood - and look forward with hope to the future.
(The next part of the film, featuring contributions sent in from the provinces, will be shared at a later date.)
