Year of St Joseph

Year of St Joseph

On 8 December 2020, Pope Francis proclaimed a special "Year of St Joseph" to mark the 150th anniversary of the declaration of Saint Joseph as Patron of the Universal Church and published the Apostolic Letter "Patris corde" on the subject.

It is worth mentioning that he is also our particular Ursuline patron. In many of our provinces and communities he is venerated as father, protector and helper in spiritual and material matters. Let the photos, pictures and statues of St Joseph in our houses testify to this.

we are still waiting for more photos, please...

Special prayer to St. Joseph - Pope Francis prays this every day

Glorious Patriarch Saint Joseph, whose power makes the impossible possible, come to my aid in these times of anguish and difficulty.

Take under your protection the serious and troubling situations that I commend to you, that they may have a happy outcome.

My beloved father, all my trust is in you. Let it not be said that I invoked you in vain, and since you can do everything with Jesus and Mary, show me that your goodness is as great as your power. Amen.

Prayers to St Joseph – that our sisters in Ireland pray

O Glorious Saint Joseph,
you have the power to make things possible that are impossible.
Come to our aid in our present difficulties.
Take this important process under your protection
and bring it to a successful conclusion.
O dear Saint Joseph,
you were entrusted with the care of Jesus our Saviour, we place our confidence in you.
Through your intercession may we continue to serve Christ Jesus,
who lives and reigns with the Holy Spirit,
One God for ever and ever.

O Glorious Saint Joseph, spouse of Mary, be mindful of us.
Help us to work out our salvation.
Your power makes possible the things that are seemingly impossible, so look to our present needs.
Come to our aid in the circumstances in which we find ourselves
and take under your paternal care these important and difficult matters which we recommend to you,
so that their happy issue may turn to the greater glory of God and the good of souls.
Saint Joseph, helper in time of difficulty, pray for us.
